i just joined here a day or so ago and just wanted to introduce myself. my name is troy, i'm 22, live in wilmington, nc. I do upholstery work for a living. i've been into model cars for about 10 years now. started off with just building them, then started doing a little custom stuff here and there, then pulling 2 kits together to make one, etc. most of my older cars haven't lasted as long as i have. i have parted most of my kits and will be used for future builds. i am currently working on a 69 charger, started off as the general lee, but i'm doing it pro street. it's tubbed, blown, will have a 2 tone paint job. also in progess is a 1/18th scale shelby cobra. nothing too custom on it other than i'm going with a croc look-a-like vinyl for the interior, top, and tonneu cover. i have a ram pickup that i'm building to be the hauler for the charger, and then a 95 ford ranger that will be like my actual truck. i've been thinking about trying some scratch building. i want to do a pro-modified pulling tractor. think it should be fairly easy. i'll post some pics later.

Welcome Troy, I've attempted building a couple of cars but my my interest is trucks ... Emergency and Military. At the moment, involved in a GB with the Wallace & Gromit A35 Van from the film 'Curse of the Were Rabbit'

Good to see another Tarheel on the boards. I have been back into building cars for about eight years, this time. In my prior life as a kid I built and collected from '59-'84, then I got tired of moving everything and sold my whole collection (talk about dumb). Anyway I enjoy mostly drag cars, but also some custom work and lots of kitbashing.

thanks for all the comments so far. i am really enjoying this site. i singed up on BMC and haven't had this much luck. they are all worried about it being a perfect site with no dead link, etc. sorry, i'm not bashing on the site, just think they might be a little strict.
