G'day, Here are pix of RAAF Spitfire Mk VIII's, stange thing with these was when the RAAF first got the Mk V'cs and one onlt Mk Vb Trop they were code named 'Capstan' a brand of cigaretes of the time. When I edit the other Spitfire Pix I'll up-date this thread. A Mk VIII HF of 452 Squadron. Mk VIII's of an OTU sometime in '44 Rob.

Bill,
A58-516 [QY-T] Mk VIII LF, was finished in overall Foliage Green upper surfaces over Medium Sea Grey, this bird was polished
Foliage Green in Humbrol is #149, it's FS #34092.
As for the OTU aircraft, they could be in either the Foliage Green/ Earth Brown over Sky Blue. Or the RAF finish of Ocean Grey / Dk Green over Medium Sea Grey
The RAAF colour scheme of Earth Brown in Humbrol is #186 Sky Blue is a lighter shade of Azure Blue, this can be made by mixing Humbrol #'s 89 and 130 on a 50/50 ratio
