Hi all , I was wondering just what do you do with the kits that end up as disaters ? Do you recycle them for spare parts or use them to practice weathering etc, or do you bin them?. Answers on a post card cheers ian

By all means yes. I have "animal's" junk yard full of old trucks and other kits. It gives me a great source of parts for some of my scratch builds. I can't seem to get rid of anything. So I recycle them.

I usually trash the lot of it and save some of the more useful parts for other projects that I think may come in handy.

I tend to save as many of the parts as I can. Many of the parts are useful for other projects, especially with Mopars with swapping wheels and engines.

i usually box the damaged and fubared ones up as they are. it makes looking for the necesary bits alot easier though a few months ago i took the three very large boxes (3ft X 2 ft X 2 ft) full of old and bust up kits and had a massive stripping session for the spares. got it down to 1 box full of bits and pieces. the wheeliebin outside was full of old kits after that . decals i keep in a large file box. Me I like to rebuild them. Heres one not completed yet but the pics will show progress. These are mostly the same parts from the original truck with parts box parts added like exhaust stack, and front rims. The rest is from what you see in the first pic. ENJOY

RC, You`d be wasting your time looking in my rubbish bin. Only the sprues go in there - and then only after the straight bits have been salvaged. LOL. Jim

Hey Jim! Can you imagine with all the "Free-be models" Dan receives every year to build to show & tell for FSM & here?! He said: I usually trash the lot of it and save some of the more useful parts for other projects that I think may come in handy. He takes a few parts he Thinks he might use But chuck's the rest?!... I'll bet his trash man's kid's are standing at the curb drooling, waiting for Pop to come home with Dan's trash to rummage though! ha,ha...Be careful Dan your trash man could use thrown away info to steal your ID, wipe out your bank account or buy lots of wonderful things with Your thrown away credit cards receipt numbers! " Humm!...What did you say your address is?!" "RC"
