Well, it's 2006 andI would like to present my first finished project for the new year. Its none other then a THAAD Launcher. Now, the model I built is an older model. Well, I think it is an older model, because the oneI keep seeing on the net has 3 axis wheel in the back. So I assumed this is a newer version. The experts here can correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyways, the one I built has a 2 axis wheel. I chose this version because I like it. As always when I do decide on a model to build I am not so lucky when it comes to finding reference phots. My version was built using two pics. One a 3D drawing( done very well I must say) and the other a real life photo but with a different variant launcher on it's back.
The one I referred to during my build was the 3D version which made up about 90% of the model. It was the only one that was a little more detailed.
Now, I did my best to duplicate this model but some parts were still a little difficult to see; like the rear which I had to use some guess work here. I looked at the rear of the current new THAAD model and summized how it would look on the version I was building. With rational deduction I came up with what the rear looks like. The result is what you see at the bottom.
I've left out the mud guard because I think it looks better without it. Another thing I forgot to do is correct the side view mirrors which as the arrow markings on them.
