As promised, I am posting pics on my 2nd WIP, my 70 Dodge T/A Challenger. The project has already given me fits when the Panther Pink I used from Testors went on like 80 grit sandpapaer and crazed badly. Thanks to Wayne Farmer's generosity, he supplied me with another Challenger kit so I could continue on this project. The second attempt at laying down the paint turned out much better and I am looking forward to wetsnading and polishing this body out to give it a showroom shine.
I started the interior as well and am going with the rare white/black color option for this car. I think the white seats and door panels make a great contrast to the black dash, carpet and rear package shelf. I am also simulating the woodgrain found on the console and dash. I am not the least bit happy though with the level of detail I have gotten from the guages in the dash. I would love to bring out the numbers and so forth, but I have had no luck whatsoever doing that. I have only been able to bring out the red needles and even they look crappy. I amy try to make some photoreduced guages to put into the appropriate spaces to try and make it a bit more realistic.
I also misted the chassis with Panther Pink to simulate the factory overspray common to these cars.
Anyways, that about sums up my progress so far on this car. Here are some pics of my progress so far, and yes, this car will have fuel and brake lines as well as engine wiring and I am going to TRY to build the 6-Pack carb linkages and fuel lines as well. This will be another first for me, so I'm not sure how they'll turn out. They arer alot different than the Nascar fuel lines and linkages I'm used to building.
