The honest answer to that question is , `I don`t know`. All I can do is explain my own position and let the rest of you make your own minds up. At the beginning of November I was invited to become a moderator by Bill (the group owner). I accepted, hoping that my little contribution would help keep this group afloat. After thinking it over for a few days I posted admin asking to be put back to a normal member as I didn`t know enough about my duties to make a go of it. I received no reply at all. I e-mailed him and again there wasn`t even the decency of an acknowledgement. I think we all deserve better treatment than this.
BILL, FOR WHATEVER REASON YOU HAVE LEFT THIS GROUP TO LOOK AFTER ITSELF FOR - PLEASE EITHER EXPLAIN OR CLOSE IT DOWN. Jim.

Just like you I was too asked to become a moderator but by both Bill & RC and I had declined it as well but for other reasons. I know it must be a BIG responsibility for any one person to take it on and make it work like we're all use to. Look at it from another side....maybe he's to ill or perhaps he's tending to a family emergency or even maybe his computer got a virus and he's not able to get back online yet Let's all just hope for the best and continue to do our daily postings even if it means that we won't be able to vote on the monthly contests And as for me, well I just got back from spending 10 days in Guatemala, C.A. and I'm ready to do more posting

I understand what you're saying Willie, however, Bill has done this before, just dissappear and leave everyone wondering what was going on. The last time he did this he was gone for almost a year... now it seems he has done it again, without leaving anyone with the capabilities to keep this forum going. Looks like Dan made a mistake by leaving it to someone who has shown lack of respect to the other forum members in the past! Bill pops up outta the blue, and well, I guess he is leaving us to welcome him back with open arms yet again.. I've had enough of his lack of responsibility to others!

I can tell you guys what happened, well kind of. I used to be the owner of this site, after awhile I decided I just didn't have the time to keep it running any more. There's alot, you'd be surprised, of work that goes into keeping the forum running. Like Willie said, its a big responsibility for 1 person to keep it running, and thats what I used to do. So I told the other staff members that I just didn't have the time anymore, I told them I could pull the plug, or I could let them run it by themselves, and gave them the option. They said they were up to the challenge so I let them. I gave up my head admin posistion to bluecorsair, he seemed enthusiastic about keeping the place going. After I left, that was when some changes started taking place, and it was also the last time any work ever got done in the model of the month section to my knowledge. A few weeks after leaving I found out the other admin, peglegrc, had been banned from the site. I don't know how it happened, it may have been a mistake, I know for a fact how easy it is to accidently ban people or even yourself from the site, its a flaw in Proboards. I suspect Bluecorsair may have even banned himself accidently, I did it once, but I knew how to undo it. I can't tell you exactly what happened after I left, since Bluecorsair isn't responding. But from how I know him, he is a responsible nice guy. Perhaps its time to pull the plug, but only Bluecorsair can do that now.

It's a shame but I guess you're right. Time to end it all. It was nice while it lasted. Bye everyone.

It`s a great pity, but it looks like the end, so I will also sign off for the last time. Dan, thanks for your explanation and the work you put into the site and the enjoyment I received from it. One very final point - I accept that people may have accidentally banned themselves, but that doesn`t prevent them replying to my e-mails. Bye everybody. Jim

It is pretty slow, but I come in everyday and update my little task area. Never missed a day yet, even if I am a little late every few months... I post what I'm working on, try to browse a bit and see what else is there. Until someone tells me it's over, or I can't get into the site, I'll continue to come here. Maybe it will pick up when it gets cold again, I don't know. I guess we just see what happens... - Mark

I hope it isn't dead...I stop in almost every day. I just don't log in every time. It really just depends on how much time I have. It has been rather quiet around here lately. C'mon everybody...lets get some more modeling done on here. I hope to post my finished 2006 Mustang in the next few days...it was kind of interrupted by the rebuild I posted about in the Off Topic board. If you get a chance check out the foil idea I posted in Engine and Chassis board. I hope to see you all back here soon. Have a nice day. Jerry

I am currently co-owner of 2 modeling forums on Proboards and I'll be honest. I've had no problems with accidentally banning myself or banning other members. Any trouble I have had with the forums the team at Proboards have always been able to remedy in a very timely manner. To me it seems as though people have just lost interest here and it's a real shame. I hate to see any modeling avenue fall by the wayside, whether it be an online modeling community or a 1:1 club. On our forums we work very hard at making sure each member feels like family and we extend our heartfelt thanks for everyone who chooses to frequent the forums. In my opinion this goes a long way in keeping the enthusiasm for the forums going and it keep people wanting to come back for more. With so many online modeling choices to make these days, we consider it an honor for each and every person to decide to spend at least part of their time with us on our forums. It doesn't take long for people to get tired of trying to support something when the owners and moderators themselves are losing interest. Without being able to have access to the moderator functions and so forth, it will also be virtually impossible to keep these forums running for any length of time if something does go wrong. Again, it's a shame to see these forums go away, but, as I posted in another thread, I would like to extend an open invitation to everyone here to check out our forums and we sincerely hope you decide to join our online family and share your work and modeling experiences. And rest assured, our forums will NOT be going away as we have a great group of moderators who take their responsibilities seriously and share in the same enthusiasm and dedication as I do when it comes to maintaining the forums. We hope to see y'all there!!! ny03ss.proboards101.com/index.cgi Armor & Wings Scale Modeling Family 90redsc.proboards36.com/index.cgi? B&J's Automotive Modeling Den
