Hi everyone, ;D As you know ABing is a very complicated art, any information, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant you might think what you know is, is valuable, there will be someone out there who more than likely can use that information, (like me ;D) This area will be used for all things concerning airbrushing (AB). Please post here anything you think might be useful to our members, or anyone else for that matter. I encourage you to show your AB booths, tools, and anything related to ABing. I have seen the work that you guys can do! Please pass along your knowledge and expertise so that I..oops, I mean all of us...*cough*, can learn. Thankyou very much, and have fun, Bill

Well, let me start off by showing you a little something of my booth, not great, but, it was all free...left over plywood, got the exhaust fan from a stove that a neighbor was replacing with a new one. The hose is dryer exhaust hose, the big green thing is a plastic trash can that I confiscated from my wife..not a good idea it turned out! ha I cut the bottom out and inverted it over the fan because the hose did not fit on it's own, then I put the hose on the bottom of the can and taped the heck outta it! came with it's own light , just put a flourescent type bulb in it, and added a "under cabinet" flourescent light that I had stashed in a corner of the garage, for even more light. I love flourescent lighting, and ca n never have enuff lighting anyway, IMO. The tank and gauges I bought from a welding supply place, the gauges are set up for Nitrogen, it lasts a loooong time and costs 'bout 15 bucks to refill. I like Nitrogen cuz it is dryer than Co2. I did Co2 at first but..where I live humidity is always very high and it always spit when trying to AB. I have a sheet of plastic attached to the top of the booth so it can hang down over the opening so no dirt or hair can get in. I use an Iwata HP SBS AB right now but have my original Badger 175 as back-up. Be good and have fun, Bill Ha, this is how I expend what's left in the AB after I am done painting, I dont put paint I have thinned back into the paint bottle, so I just goof off with it till the AB is empty, then I clean it.

Hey Bill.... Super set up youve got! Love the doodling on the back of the paint booth!... Hey?! Don't breathing in Nitrogen make your voice sound like Donald Duck? And speaking of Duck's did you know that a Ducks Quack don't echo? ha,ha.. Super looking "Cave" you've got...like your name for it.....What paints can you run through your paint booth? Being I've got my paint booth set up in my bedroom and vented into a Indoor laundry vent, I only use acrylics and wear a dust mask.... Any Enamel's I use is with my regular paint brushes by hand....I don't feel that using a paint brush will atomize the paint into the air, but do have the sliding glass door open for fresh air and the bedroom door closed to keep out my kitty's who would be laying in the middle of my work area.....Here in the high Desert our humidity is 15 to 20.. 30 max unless its Raining or Snowing.. Guess thats why our skin's looks like leather out here! The women walk around looking like dried up ol' prunes..Oh! I did tell you; I live in a senior complex! LoL.. Great looking work area, thanks for sharing... (did I send you a pic of my work bench and paint booth? If you'd post them up here too for me as I cant get my post pic's working still.. I can go in to the pic's and explain my work area too)..
Thanks "RC"

Hi RC, ;D I can paint with enamels just fine, the fan is a 2 speed, and on high you better have your seat harness on, ha, kidding, but you can see the fumes and paint material get sucked up into it real quick.... the humidty here is an average of 90%... here, in this pic you can see that the fan does a good job, when I buy air conditioning filters I jut buy a few extra, and as one portion of the filter gets pretty much dirty from paint residue I just slide it over to a new, fresh part. ;D

RC, sure I will post the pix you emailed me of your setup, give me a few and I will post them here, then we will see what we can do to get your pix posted here, shouldn't be a problem. I have to put this fine weather we are having right now to good use, got to do some yard work, the high here was like 88 degrees with around 40% humidity, practically bone dry and freezing . Bill
