well, i have been asked to make two model aircraft for an outfit that fly two de Havilland Chipmunks for them to use as instruction models, they are to be representative of their aircraft and are to have handles on the rear for demonstration purposes, as the Chipmunk has a rather pointy rear end i will be mounting the handles to the underside of the center section and have a 90 degree bend in them, as i am a moderator on their site i have not asked for anything for these being built except replacement models. Has any of you guys had any experience of building models for this purpose?. any advice will be greatly recived. progress so far on these and two Chipmunks of my own not the chipmunks i am modeling but representative of the colous for them both the above my copyright (Greg Wilson), if you use them credit me, cheers all the best. Greg,
Having built models for instructional purposes, along with the contract with the RAAF's OTS [who's models are locked in a glass display case], I use clear solid plastic rod mounted into the fuselage half way of the trailing edge of the wing as a meens of a handle, this also acts as a stand base when displayed.
I hope this helps a little.

cheers Rob, i had thought of using either perspex or plastic rod but havn't found any yet, i was going to use some wooden dowel or alluminium tube, cheers for your advice, i'll continue searching for some clear rod.
thanks again.
