is there any interest in doing a trainer group build?. anything from the Avro504 and Curtis Jenny to two seat eurofighter Typhoon and Saab Grippen, am thinking of it just being a short / quick build type thing depending on interest shown.
Lobbie.....Tiger Moth....RAAF ? Gregers....Avro anson, Avro 504, Miles Master, Saab Viggen.
all the best.

cool, well, my list so far is. airfix Avro 504 matchbox Saab Viggen novo Miles Master airfix Avro Anson.
have already started the Chipmunks so including them would be sort of cheating a little.
all the best.

The Tiger Moth for this GB is the old SMER kit that looks 1/50 rather than 48. I have 4 options of cammo or BMF on this one so we'll see what the outcome is at that point of the build.

cool, have dug out the anson, and the viggen, done some painting on the insides of both, seeing as i have WAY too many projects on the go i will be doing these almost ootb. the Anson is going in the Austrailian markings provided as an option. we'll see what i do to add details though. dunno what yet. am looking forward to reading about how that tiger goes together, wouldn't mind having a bash at that kit myself.
all the best.

Greg,
The RAAF option for the Anson is that the red coded PP on it or is it one of the yellow banded cammo schemes, as I have some wartime RAAF pix of one of the OTU's that had them.

Hiya Rob, the Austrailian colours (option 2) are somewhat different for an Anson. here's the decal options in the kit. the colour reference is for the Humbrol range
1/ No. 321 Squadron, RAF St Eval, Dark Earth/Green over Sky Type S (H29, H30, H90)
2/ No. 71 Squadron RAAF, camouflaged as Light/ Dark Grey upper, Matt White sides, and Satin White underneath (H31, H79, H34, H130)
3/ No. 31 Air Navigation School, RCAF, Ontario, painted all over Gloss Yellow (H69).
hope this helps.

Greg,
The 71 Sqn RAAF bird painted in the Dark Slate Grey/Extra Dark Sea Grey over white was an experimental scheme tried for Anti-Submarine duties during October '43 with the red PP-B code letters. This bird was based at Lowood in Queensland during it's service life.
I have some wartime B&W pix of RAAF Anson's in Trainer schemes if you can use them.

Greg,
Their is not a great deal of info on Overall Yellow Ansons used by the RAAF during the war years. Some of the OTU birds carried standard como schemes with yellow numbers on the fuselage sides, {these I don't have any refs too show this practice}.
The only info I have found relating to Overall Yellow schemes is of the Fairey Battle and Vengeance aircraft we had in service as Target Tugs. As a large number of these trainer types were the "Boring Old Silver" with the Yellow Trainer Bands on them.
I PM'd the 2 wartime shots, there are other pix and some colour drawings that I need to scan for you and I'll let you know when I've done them.

Greg,
I got a Tamiya Do 335 A-12 which is the trainer version of the 'Arrow', you think this could be included.

certainly fits the bill Rob, can't wait to see that one built. i have gone and lost a part of my Anson so will have to put that on the back burner and concentrate on my other builds. got to admit, things have slowed down here somewhat with the model building, i will have to get a move on.
all the best.

Greg,
One of the kit decal options of the 'Anteater' is of the bird the RAF test flew after it's capture, which would make an interesting subject to build.

cool, i had thought of suggesting a captured aircraft as i saw a pic of one some time back. this one will look great, i havn't built a DO 335 since i was a kid (a revell kit iirc) seeing this one may tempt me to get one. still looking for the wing of my Anson. have a funny feeling it has been put into the box of another kit but i can't for the lif of me figure which one so i will have to keep searching.
all the best.
