Here's my main ongoing project at the minute. Its a 61 Impala convertable which is being semi customed. So far, I've dropped the suspension by about 2.5mm, frenched the tail lights, replaced the brakes with dics's from a Fujimi wheel set, removed some trim, removed the door handles and fitting working scissor hood hinges at present. Mick Oh yes, I'm not using these wheels now, got some nice chrome Vielside rims for it.

That is going to be one nice looking ride! That is a really great body style too...it definitely lends itself to the mods you have made. Can't wait to see the finished product. What color are you thinking of doing it in?

It's being done two tone. Silver above the side chrome trim and light gun metal below. I might put either a bit of met. black or met. grey in the panel between the trim.

Is the color on the underside the light gun metal you will be using? It sounds like it will be a nice color scheme. I can't wait to see it finished.
My uncle has a hard top that he is working on right now. It is red with white in the panel. Last I knew it was in the body shop and they were working the interior. If I can get some pics I will post them, if you are interested.

Hi Jerry I'm always interested in photo's for research. Yes, that's the light gun metal on the underneath. I'm in the process of setting up the bonnet hinges at the minute, but it's been a bit busy with work over the last week or so. But I'm half way through them, just the front arms to be done then tested. once they're okay, I can start spraying the body. I thinking about putting prismatic sapphire on the body too. What does everyone think? New pics soon. Mick

Here's a new pic for you, had a bit of spare time over the weekend and got the hinges set up and fitted. I just need to do a bit of fine adjustment, dismantle the arms and spray her. And the hinges work too.... ;D Mick

The prismatic sapphire sounds pretty cool. Are you planning on using it on the chrome insert or as one of the main body colors?
Oh, I haven't forgotten about the pictures of my uncles car; it is still in the shop and he is having it moved to another painter's shop to get some touch-up done. He told me that he hopes to have it back in his garage soon so he can do some more under-the-hood work. As soon as I can track it down I will shoot some pics.

Another update on her.
Interior has been sprayed and semi-gloss cleared. Adding BMF to appropiate parts on it. The body has been sprayed too, but I've had a slight problem with the filler. Being sorted out now. Still not decided on the Prismatic sapphire yet! Shall I or not? I'll have to decide in the next day or so. Once the body's been cleared and BMF'd, I'll post some new pics.
