Well that time of year is upon us again, & for those of us that live in the colder climates, here's a few tips that might help... When it's cold out, I use automotive lacquer, mainly plastikote... It dries fast, doesn't run or hang, & has a nice shine without a lot of buffing... You can also use Duplicolor, but you have to buff it afterwards... Just be sure to use a good quality primer first.... I used Plastikote on the KW K123, & 60 Chevy Impala that are posted here... Seems like the colder it is the better with this paint... I painted a model earlier this year when it was well below zero with this paint with ZERO problems... If you use Testors enamels, put on a coat of clear between the color coats... It helps "set" the paint & pervents runs & hangs.... Try it, it works.... ;D

Ken,
Are you warming the paint can or not prior to painting? Am correct in thinking that you are bringing it inside to dry? If so room temp, 67 deg. F to 72deg. F or what?
Thanks Ken

Thanks for the tips, I didn't know you could put on a clear coat before a color coat.

Thanks Ken I don't usually warm the paint... I just let it get to room temp... I've allways bad better luck with it that way... & yes as soon as I put on a coat, I bring it in, when it stes up I take it out for the next coat..... Oh yeah Dan you can put on a coat of clear between color coats of Testors, I do it all the time when I'm using the enamels, & finnish it off with the desired # of coats of clear.... I also used to do that when I was painting 1:1 cars when it was colder out.... ;D

Sorry it just seems so weird to put on a coat of enamel then laquer then enamel etc.
