What are some tools youve made 2 get the job done?

What are some of the tools you have made or thought of to help you build your models? Also what are your favorite model building tools that you didn't make yourself?

Thread and a flexi-file make a great cutting tool:

I cut some sprue and put blue tac on either end.
Stick the sprue to a flat surface and it can be used to hold smaller parts for painting etc.

:'(they don't exist yet...........but, like the Squadron sanding sticks in variable grits.........i want to see someone make then ROUND.............for compound curves, longitudinal fillet area where something other than flat works better...............
now, i've made due with flat styrofoam egg carton, two faced tape and wet/dry sand paper..........but, MicroMark would be the perfect company to produce the flat sanding sticks ROUND instead of flat............puuuuuuuuuhhhhhhlllllllleeeeeeezzzzzzzeeeeeeeeee
