G'day, This has been seen before by some on other forums, it's the old AMT 48 scale A20b/c Havoc/Boston converted to the export version as a DB-7b and flown by 22 Squadron of the RAAF, the decals on this are from either Tasman [for the roundals] or RedRoo for the Sqn codes and Aussie Decals for the serial numbers. The model has not been around for some time but in communication with Italeri this kit is proposed as a 2006 release. The model is part of a contract build for the O.T.S. of the RAAF and is depicted as the aircraft flown by Flt.Lt. W.E.Newton on the mision that he was awarded the Victoria Cross, he was the only RAAF pilot in the Pacific Theatre to be awarded such a decoration. A wartime pic of the real thing and the reference for the model subject. The resin conversion added to the original kit. Views of the model subject. Rob.

Thanks all for the kind words.
Sean,
Yes the raft is part of the resin conversion set, the base A20b/c kit is intended for sometime in 2006 from Italeri, I've been aproached by a local decal manufacturer to assist with artwork and details of the DB-7b's the RAAF flew as a planned future conversion/decal relaese of these RAAF subjects.

I've seen this A-20 before on another forum, and it is unique to be sure. May I respectfully suggest that you re-photograph it to really let us appreciate the work? I would love to see some close ups of the chin blisters and nose as well as the belly of the aircraft. Fine work there, give us more please!
Steve
