Hi all you muscle car junkies! I too like muscle cars alot, I just havent gotten the chance to build any up till now! I currently have the Revell '69 Dodge Super Bee 2 'n 1 and I need to know what are the faults with this kit? Also any recomendations for a good paint scheme (I want it to be custom) This is my first car model EVER so please help me out here! BTW, could someone throw down a list of the basic paints I'll need to paint things such as the engine, dashboard gauges, etc. Thanks!

I don't own the kit so I can't help you here, but heres some of the basic paints: - Chrysler engine whatever
- flat/gloss black
- semigloss black
- silver
- aluminum metalizer
- steel metalizer
- turn signal amber and transparent red. (instead you can buy cheap transparent paint for hobby stores thats used for painting glass.)
- red/green (not used very often but you'll need it for some things like battery and electronics in engine bay)
- testors leather or brown (you'll probably use on woodgrain in interior)
- Chrome silver
- For some chassis parts, I'd recomend having Krylon Ultra Flat Black spray paint. Awesome texture
- Maybe some metalizers for in the wheel, If your superbee is going to have magnum 500's I'd use Titanium metalizer
- White, one thats thick to make coverage of things like wiper fluid resorvoirs easyier.
- Maybe some Bare-Metal Foil and thats basically the lot of it.

My only advice is to not really try a custom paint job right away since it is your first model. You should probably get a handle on just painting solid colors before you try anything else. Then try some two-tone, and then flames or scallops. Take your time and enjoy!

It says first car model. Did you work on military and plane stuff before? In that case you can probably paint already. If you need to know about any custom work just go to www.briansmodelcars.com

Alex that web site www.briansmodelcars.com is really the very best you'll find for car models and if you Book Mark the Tutorials, you'll be able to go back time & time again for the wonderful ideas they have on them..Theres everything from painting they have one on painting with finger nail polish that makes car models look so good!..To flocking the floorboards & seat covers, to doing the instruments on the dash board too. You'll find anything you'll ever want on that tutorail, from making your own mufflers, too building a trailer to tow behind it..Evey thing possable you can think of to do to a model is on there, you'll even find things there you'll be able to use when you get back to your Armor too.."RC" i'm a member there, and i don't really like the site. the tutorials are great, but the "feeling of a family" is not there. their rules are strange.

Good luck its a great kit!!! Why not try the best of both worlds, make it a Army personel car. Paint that baby Camo or Olive Drab. Would be a neat change.
