Not being too hot in building armor, I decided to try my hand in building a plane.. Had some fit problems, does this happen to anyone else? As you can see it is going to be a "flying" Corsair, only problem is..I don't really know how to make a base... Sure am glad I am starting off on the easy things, right??.... ;D

Hey Bill,
Yep, we all suffer with those fit up problems, unless you buy Tamiya. Your Corsair looks like its off to a good start.

This is a Tamiya!! An ealier attempt at building a plane ended in disaster also, A Tamiya Me262A-2a, the gun covers on the nose were a horrible fit, it's back in the box, prolly when I get better at building A/C I will get it out and fix it up, but have alot to learn about A/C first!!! So much more complicated than armor.."in my opinion". My hat is off to ya Steve for producing such excellent birds!!! And everyone else out there that can put one together nicely w/o pulling out all their hair or biting off all their fingernails, ha.

don't know why you think you can't build armour bill, but keep at this one, I'm sure it'll turn out fine!

Bill, Here is a suggestion for your base. I am the chief modeler at the Millville Army Air Field Museum in Millville NJ. We have a handy little device that has a clear acylic base with three little arms with rubber tips that protrude upward from the base. These little arms are positional so that they can fit various planes. I am not really sure where they came from, but maybe someone out there knows where the can be had. If not, maybe you could make them out of wood. Good luck. Ed
