Dave,
Thanks, the track links are ok they join together easily, as this is a 'first' with this type of track set up for this build. Making the curved ends I use masking tape to hold the links together before using glue.

Rob, Looking at my references, I don't think that any Tiger 1's were ever painted in the ambush scheme. Even the very late "Frankenstein" retrofits (early cupola turret mated to a late steel roadwheel hull) were not painted in the "ambush" pattern. Dark Yellow, Red brown, and olive grun - yes, but no ambush dots. Your Academy Tiger, with the large idler and the rubber rimmed roadwheels, and the loaders escape hatch would fall into the early-mid production series. Depending on the theater of operations and unit, you could accurately choose between overall dark yellow, three tone camo, overall dark gray with a variation of the three tone, etc..... The absence of zimmerit would date this Tiger prior to September 43. To be accurate, you should apply the hull smoke candle dischargers as well. Also, Since I have scratched built the T1 interior on a Tiger from this same period, I did some exhaustive research on interior colors. The engine compt, radiator and fuel compartmrnt walls should be red oxide primer. The interior should be a combination of Panzer gray and eifelbein. Some of the restored Tigers have not been refinished in the proper colors, and these photo references are inaccurate. I have a full set of interior color shots that I would be glad to share with you by e-mail if you wish. Regards, Steve

Steve,
Thanks for the info on the interior and offer of the pix to complete this build, yes it will be finished in the 3 tone scheme.
Alex,
I'm not worried about the injector pin marks on the track links, when the final pix are shown they won't be seen.
