Ayup folks ... can anyone tell me if the following are produced in kit form in 1:35 scale? ... M332 Ammo trailer and 155mm Howitzer field gun (not the long tom) ... need both for a diorama ...

I have been searching all over and I can't seem to find either of the kits you are requesting. Is it possible to modify the long tom kit and scratch build the trailer? Do you have any photos of what you are trying to build?

Hi Animal,
I've been asked to build a truck and howitzer for a friend who owns the truck. I can use the Italeri shelter truck again as the donor but apparently, the 155mm howitzer is not the long tom, I'm going to have to research this project a little more as I believe the diorama will be set in the vietnam era. The ammo trailer will have to be a scatch build.

Academy has M-12 155 mm Self-propelled howitzer, but I don't know whether it's the same gun with the one you want or not : More pics available at : www.falconbbs.com/model15b.httm

Are you looking for SPG or towed? The towed was the M114.

Hi Guys,
I was at the IPMS/UK Nationals this weekend. One of the visitors to the show overheard me asking a friend to keep a lookout for this kit, it turns out that he had just seen the kit at one of the traders at the show and informed me of where to find it. It was the 'MAX' kit of the 155mm M1-A2 carriage howitzer, what a find, metal barrel and and working metal recoil arms ... chance in a million or what ? ... I'll keep you all informed of the build.

I just got one today, one among the 37 kits bought at a shock sales event. This rare kit - MAX's 155mm M1-A2 Carriage Howitzer 1:35 - costs me the most, at $32 : I think it's the same kit Nick was talking about... 37 kits and 10 books bought today :

That's the one !!! ... I paid about $7 for mine. I believe it's the forerunner of the Peerless kits? ... they actually show a Dragon Wagon kit in the instructon sheet. I've been in the workshop for the past couple of days, the gun assembly is done, but as yet unpainted, however, i've seeen several photos now of this piece, some show the gun polished, other show the gun in drab ... albeit slightly chipped ... which is correct? Have a look at this site ... excellent info ... bravecannons.org/the_gun.html

You paid $7 only? Since when did you buy the kit? This is a very rare kit and it could fetch $100 or $200 on E-bay. The one I got had been kept for over 30 years by its former owner.
The site you mentioned has details on 155mm M114A1. Is it the same with M1-A2?

The M114A1 on the web site bravecannons.org/the_gun.html looks identical to the (supposedly) M1-A2 in the kit, can anyone shed any further info?

IPMS/UK? then you paid in pound stering. 13 pound equals $ 22.50, not $7, but still a very good price.

Ah! ... my calculations went the wrong way then? ... my apologies.
I'd still like to know the difference between the M114A1 and the kit ... or is the kit labelled wrongly?

No problem.
Have you tried contacting the owner of the site you mentioned, to ask him about the difference?

You're welcome. How about your kit? any progress in the build? As for my kit, I think I'll keep it as it is now that I have hundreds of other kits to build.
