I would recommend Evergreen Plastic Models www.evergreenscalemodels.com/ They manufacture a lot the different sizes, shapes to help you build some first class examples. You can get it at your local Hobby Store or order it direct from them. They are located in Washington State. Ask for Nancy. She is one great lady. (note: I am not affiliated with this company, just a very satisfied customer).

Hi Guys,
We must be lucky here in the UK, most of the decent hobby shops sell styrene rod and sheet, and Slaters are just a 30 minute trip up the road which is plastic heaven.

When we had a Hobbytown here in Winston-Salem, they stocked it. Another source, although the rods are a bit short, is a kids game called "Pick-up Stix" these are multi-colored and about 4-6 inches long and there are at least 30 in the box. HTH

They are .125 in diameter and just over 6 inches of usable length, both ends taper off. A box of them is less than $5. Not a bad deal, although they are a soft styrene and would not hold up very well for anything requiring and real stiffness, such as chassis rails.

I was just looking at a rack full of sheet and rod at a store called, I believe, Hobbytown, USA in Columbus, OH. The prices didn't seem too bad to me. I can't recall what they were running though.

Hobby shops, a LOT of ACE Hardware stores, sometimes even the WalMart has a good hobby section. Look for Evergreen or Plastruct. Racks, pegs or even stacked. I've seen a lot of places selling it.

the nearest hobby lobby is about 2 hours away. they didn't have anything but plexiglass. ace hardware is around everywhere, but i've yet to see them have plastic. the hobby shop carries some, but not a big selection. i did pick up some yesterday. i got a piece of channel and a pack of clear sheet, but it's not styrene. i can't remember what it was. thanks though for the input.
