Hi All I am researching the KV series of tanks at the moment and I will be publishing my results in the New Year in bit parts as each is completed . So to answer the opening Line you need 34 kits to build all the sub variants I have so far identified .
They are KV Angled Turret 4-6 depends on source material.
KV 2 there are 5 vartions not counting the German one.
KV 1 Model 1941 there are 6 types .
KV 1 Ehkranami I have listed 7 so far.
KV1 Simplified I have 3 on list.
KV 1 Light Cast Turret 3 types so far and one maybe.
KV 1 Heavy Cast turret 4 types and one maybe .
