Well with the little modeling time I got for the past weeks, I have finally been able to complete the three kits I started late last year. I must admit that I rushed completing these builds and I may have lost the opportunity to come out with a good job on them. Anyway here they are:
1.) M4A3E2 “Jumbo” Sherman
Base Kit: Tamiya M4A3E2 Jumbo Sherman
Here are the following modifications done to this kit:
1.) Reshaped the turret and the transmission cover.
2.) Added weld lines.
3.) Added scratch-built periscope guards.
4.) Replaced the periscope with scratch-built clear parts.
5.) Added casting numbers.
6.) Added scratch-built machine gun cradle (at the turret rear)
7.) Replaced the 75mm gun with a spare 76mm gun.
2.) M4A1(76) Sherman
Base Kit: Italeri M-32 Recovery Vehicle + Italeri M4A1(76) Turret
Here are the following modifications done to this kit:
1.) Added M4A1(76) turret.
2.) Modified the headlights to have clear parts.
3.) Added machine gun cradle at the turret rear.
4.) Replaced some deck tools.
One major problem of this kit is the tracks which are too stiff and tight. The tracks on the right side actually broke into 3 parts and I have to sew them together. As can be seen, the tracks won't sit on the return rollers. Right now I am in the process of doing a diorama base for this one to hide the visible problems of the tracks. If it will not work I'll replace them with a new set.
3.) KV-2
Base Kit: Trumpeter KV-2
This was done out of the box. I hand painted the markings as I do not like to apply a clear coat to my builds. And I cut out one of the lids of the stowage, thinned it and make it look crumpled.
This one is also going to be in a diorama that is why it is damaged and knocked out.
I hope that even though I missed a lot of details, the builds are satisfactory.
Comments are welcome.
