This was a set up that was used in Nam in the early 1966/67 time frame. The dolly rig was "borrowed from the US Navy" and was used to haul the 28 footers behind the M 54 cargo truck. The drivers would drop the trailers off in route and continue to the fire bases with their loads. They were very tricky to handle because there were no brakes on the dolly system at first. Eventually the Chief came up with some air lines long enough to connect to the rear glad hands to give a little braking. We only used this configuration for a short time.
