Excellent work here Nick. Very realistic. The finish is spot on. Love this piece. Dave Thanks Dave, Just finished uploading the last photos. It's based on an old Unimog which was used at an air base in Germany. The truck was built in house by the maintenance crew and was used for pilot extrication anywhere on the airfield if an aircraft had landed and the pilot was in difficulty. I had just one b/w photograph to work from. I used one of the 1:24 Revell Unimog kits as a donor which gave me the rolling chassis. The Co2 bottles were turned for me by a friend, lights and other bits and pieces were taken from the spares box but came from various sources including the Italeri Opel Blitz and Jeep Fire Truck and the old AMT LaFrance Pumper. The walkway for the rescue decks were cast in resin from a piece of an old 1:35 military kit. The rubber bump strip on the rescue deck is actually rubber tubing, stressed and weathered to suit.
