sweet! I think I've been inspired to open up the trunk on my 70 GTO! I love inspiration! Thanks. Question. Did you have to cut out the wheelwells and narrow the rear end or was the model set up like that?

Heres an idea, scrap the trunk that you cut out and make a new one out of sheet syrene. Surprisingly easy to do and its to scale thickness.
How did you cut out the trunk did you use the thread method?

i cut and reworked the entire back half of that. it was originally the dukes of hazard's general lee. i narrowed the rear, shorted the leafs, etc. the truck area is just made from some plexiglass (no one around here carries sheet styrene).
dude: i used the piece i cut out. i cut it with a hobby knife. i had actually already filled in the seams with primer, then decided i wanted to open the trunk. my hinge doesn't work quite right, so the truck stays open all the time.

that's how i was. i wasn't sure if i wanted to, i thought i was going to let it go closed, then i thought about it. i've went this far, might as well. so i did. i'm happy i did.
