Let's keep in mind a model is a small imitation

I'm kind of looking for a consensus. I'm about to mask and paint markings on my B1bis. It's painted with enamel which is well cured (painted a few months ago). I haven't put any clear coats on it yet. I plan to paint with acrylic and mask with Bare Metal foil. Now my question, do you guys think the acrylic paint stick to a gloss coat or should I paint on the bare enamel and hope the Bare Metal foil doesn't lift the base coat?

I'm not real sure. Acrylic will stick very well to an enamel primer base, but at the same time BMF sticks VERY well also. I think it will probably be OK but I'd try it in an unobtrusive area first to make sure. Adding a clear coat probably won't help. The acrylic will adhere as well to the enamel base as it will to the clear coat.
Personally my preference for masking is Tamiya tape. My second preference is 3M Blue Painter's Tape. Both of those are low-tack but do a very good job of masking. You just have to make sure to burnish the edges down well to prevent leakage.
