Sounds like the kits are old and poor quality, I hope you can sort out the problems with either, to make one good one.

Nice work Sean, you'll be back on track in no time. I'll be at work for the next week, so I won't be getting much done at home, however I'll keep checking in to see how the rest of you are doing.
See you later,
Darren.

Sean, That's good progress and it's a pity that 2 kits have been used to make one model. Darren, Don't try and do too much in the week, you know work is the curse of the modeller. This is a bit of a let down for me because this is a 72 scale Hasegawa Mk IX [the Closterman boxing], about to turn it into an A58- ?, but this is the progress of a day in the workshop.

great work guys, due to commitments (like working on the jet prov) i havn't made much progress, the tail planes are on and there has been some filling done but not enough to warrant new pics.
best regards.

Wow Rob you move fast mate looks good so far well I'm nearly there just got to finish off a little sanding
but having these 2 kits is so cool , this has saved me a lot of hassle of the cockpit when it comes to spraying i can stick on one complete canopy spray like mad , then put on the other one when i'm done

G'day,
I hope to be laying paint on my birds today. I'll post pix when I do so, as for the 72 bird the serial numbers are wrong [A58-464] for CR-C so I'll make A58-528 the last bird to carry the CR-C codes.

Sadly no painting today, but option c is in the making, this is an ICMgawa Hybryd Mk IX. I was given an older boxing of the ICM Mk VIII [white moulding], to which I'll use the wings and other parts to fit into a Hasegawa fuselage kit, the left over bits I'll use on something else.
It'll be the first kit bash of a bird anyway.

Sean,
Thanks, the Humbrol Authentic enamels look good on these birds.

I'm using Humbrol 27 and 30 for the upper , 64 lower , and 23 for the stripe and the nose on the prop

Sean,
#30 is a little light in shade, for the temperate Sea scheme, #64 is a shade dark for the lower surfaces but the other two would be ok. I've used these Humbrol #'s 106, 195 on the upper and #147 or 196 on the lower surfaces, on Spits in the past, with good results. I've been looking at a 24 scale Trumpeter kit of the Spitfire V on floats.
