Well i'm getting a little peeved with this now i sprayed the underside and guess what another crack in the wing , I think the reason this kit was so cheap is it was broken but all isn't lost I noticed that the revell kit is the same kit so I'm going to get that one and transfer the fuselage on to that

thats a tough break Sean (pun not intended). did you try running some glue over the crack a skim of filler then sanding?. here are some progress pics, (i made a bit of a pigs ear of the instrument panel btw). test fit of the belly tank....this came from the MKv kit, as did the carb air intake. best regards, Greg

Hi All, I've had a great day out with my mate and I've come back with this: Its the first time I've bought an ICM kit, It was those markings that made me buy it, I think this scheme looks great. I've already made a start and put the first few sub-assemblies together, including a merlin engine! I'm going to have the starboard side panels off showing the engine and I'll leave a panel off the starboard wing showing the gun assembly. This kit gives you the options to display these parts, plus it had a full set of ground crew figures in the box too! Its not the same quality as a Hasegawa kit, I had to remove an awful lot of flash from all the parts. The engine cradle proved to be the most difficult to clean up, but think it looks ok now. I have just sprayed all the interiors, so hopefully I'll be able to post some build pics tomorrow. See you guys later, Darren.

Well plan 'A' has been shelved, so plan 'B' was opened and put back, went onto plan 'C' and oops big mistake, so onto the next box, same thing again, ok by now getting a lot cheeeeeezed, into kit box 8 at this stage and presto something to but paint too. A Tamiya 48 scale Mk Vb, clipped winger.
Darren,
Plan 'B' was the same ICM kit, but mine is missing the instruction sheet. Would it be possible to copy the instruction sheet and forward to me ?, Are you doing as per the boxart ?

Hi Rob,
I will get my mate to scan the instructions and I'll send them to you.(my scanner is unservicable) I am doing my Spit as per the box art, I think its a great scheme. I've had a morning session in my workshop and I tried to be clever(not good!) by installing lots of wiring in the cockpit and the rear of the engine compartment. I was copying a magazine article and mine looks nothing like the photo's that I've been following! Never mind, I'll tidy it up later on when the glue is dry. Photo's to follow,
Darren.

Sean,
Thanks, the kit ref of Has 18 is an OOP kit, the tooling remains the same, as they regenerate every so often by adapting the old kit to new decals and changing the box art.
Darren,
Thanks for that, in my kit the dog has been hit by a 20mm and two of the ground crew have had 'Open Heart Surgery', but they'll get fixed [one day], the box art shows A58-484 [the 1944 mount] for this build which are in RAAF Colours and not the RAF scheme they normally would be supplied in. Which brand of paints are going to use on this bird ?, because I can give you a cross reference to the colours, of RAAF Foliage Green and Earth Brown, as for the RAAF Sky blue, that is a mix and match, using Humbrol #89 and #130 as a 50/50 mix
Hope this helps.

Hi Rob, I'm glad you picked up on that. I'm using Humbrol enamels for this one. I was going to use RAF colours, 29/30. Could you tell me which are the best match for RAAF colours?
Thanks,
Darren.
