;D, great!!! it is supposed to be FUN!!!! I didn't get into this hobby to get headaches and worry alla time, that is why I say "what -ifs" are cool, You paid the money, you are the one building it, you can build it any dang way you want!!! I always thought a hobby was supposed to be a way to relax and enjoy yourself!! I understand when you want to be accurate, I have done it also, but [glow=red,2,300]never[/glow] take the FUN out of it!!
Be good & have FUN Sean, Bill

That's cool Sean!!! ;D Say, I have found a little trick to stretch those rubber band tracks so that they are a little longer to be able to get that "sag", it works for me anyway, I used a hair dryer, run the hot air along the track for a bit, then take hold of each end and gently pull in opposite directions and "hold" it there till it cools, I hold it in front of the air conditioner to cool it off faster, I get an extra inch or more this way, then put them on and attach them to the roadwheels in any manner you want, glue 'em on or tie 'em down with wire or some type of line. This is the first tank I ever built so don't laff too hard but it has rubberband tracks and I did this method on it! At first they were very tight, with no sag at all!!!

Great work Sean!! ;D
You bet James, "any German armor". I was kinda hoping we would see some weird stuff on here but maybe later, this GB will be around for a while, kinda like a place for German armor builders to hang out! As a matter of fact, I want to try my hand at building that Famo with the 88 on the back like Modelmaniac had built, but... maybe I could "improve"? on it a little bit??! Maybe. I really like that subject alot!! Maybe add a night vision MG on it also??!!!! He-he ;D!

Sean,
When you do the cammo on your Panther in the 'Ambush' patern. Apply the sand colour first - to the overall model, then spray the green, followed by the redish brown, If you are using the Xtra Clour enamels I sent the numbers of too you, I mix these on a 1 - 1 ratio of paint / thinner.
I never use White Spirits for mixing this brand of paint, I've always used Laquer Thinner, having tried the White Spirits [the model is tacky for a week], with the Laquer Thinner it dries in about 3 hours. Also use the Xtra Colour Flat Varnish to finish your model off with.
Bill,
That one awesome Tiger you built, I have the 35 scale Academy Tiger kit [with all the interior detail] half built and intend to use the same scheme on mine. I hope to get a metal barrel for my Tiger before returning to it.

sure I'll post some pics tomorrow, once I get a chance to set up my workbench for pics and not painting! I'm still busting about this dio I'm doing with my kittie.. now that all the parts that were *ahem* missing, eerrr lost or wrecked by me, are here.. I can finally finish this beastie! Should be fun, though I keep breaking my wall section from Verliden.. eeerr.. stupid thing.. Anywho, I started to put together my Sdkfz 223 (Bill it's an armoured recce vehicle. Not sure I'f I'm going to do DAK, or just European theatre... It's been some time since I've done a DAK, but the figs I bought from Alpine are early war ones, not sure if the unifroms were universal in DAK and Europe at the time of the Pzkpfw IV E... anywho... pics to come I promise...

Hey guys ;D,
Sean; Outstanding work on your Panther !!!! No kidding, cannot wait to see the paint job!!! Sry, I coulda swore I answered you on the paint scheme . Rob has told ya true for the most part, there were variations, but basically you cannot go wrong with that order of color! Rob; I hate to blow my horn but, if you are referring to the tank a few posts above this one, you need to look in the armor section at my newer Kitties!! Alex; awesome kit!!! Whatcha gonna do to it?? anything?? like AM or what? James; I like it. What's this?? Tamiya actually putting in their kit PE parts??!!! Man, what do they charge for that??? Sry folks, but since I have started building DML and Trumpeter kits, Tamiya has kinda slid down the scale for me. Anyway James, I am reading "Rommel's War in Africa" by Wolf Heckmann. FRom what I have read so far, and he mentions a little bit 'bout uniforms, Almost anything would go, Black, gray, and I guess green, and also tan or khaki, from what I am reading, there wasn't a standard issue for the DAK, so far I am at the retreat from Tobruk by the British, so it is still early in the war. And I don't know 'bout the PzKw IV "E", but he mentions a "great black monster" with a short fat barrel scaring the outta the Allies when the first Germans go to Africa. So.. there was at least a "D" there.
Bill
