alright... well I've put aside my armoured car for a bit since it's ready for paint. Why put it aside and wait for it to be painted you ask? Well that's simple. I have been working on MY Panzer IV E for the past few weeks now. It has had me a little frustrated, but in reality, my life has me frustrated and I was getting that way toward my building... But, I'll tell ya this, this model has me incredibly patient. I lost a couple hooks that go on the upper hull, they were tiny and my tweezers sent them flying to the netherworld AKA my carpet, and I broke a handle, this will be remedied though, as I'm going to make a handle, and order the two hooks from Dragon (don't scratchbuild). I feel that I'm doing an amazing job on the PE and I haven't lost any yet. I opted NOT to use some PE as the plastic parts wont look any different when painted, so that's why, but this has been a steady pace. I just finished the right side of the tank, left if your standing on it, facing forward... it took me about a week and 10 hrs of work to do that part. about 20 hrs has gone into this so far, and I'm glad. This is modeled after a reference I have from Squadron/Signal publications, "Panzer IV in Action" of a tank numbered 421 that was based in Russia, though I can't remember the Regt.name or number. They had a unique storage bin for the spare wheels, and they had a rack on the back (which I will attempt to make on my own) that held 6 or 7 jerry cans along the upper deck of the hull, they also took off alot of their pioneer tools which you'll see in the finished model. The climb ladder was removed to make way of the stowage bin for the wheels, and the jack was moved from the right most fender to the front left fender! The stowage bin on the hull had a large Swastika flag put on for aircraft recognition, which I will either buy or create outta milliput! Here's some pics for you guys of my progress. Despite wanting to take some time off, I haven't been able to, since it calls out to me for a little love for a few hours. *deep breath* alright I've said enough, here's what I've got so far. hope you all like it as much as I am liking building this... I must say I have waited a long time for a panzer IV E... now I can finally fill the void when it comes to building all variants of this tank!

Nope, just the plastic links from the kit. Anyhoo, carry on soldier!

Thankyew, thankyew vurrry much! ;D I think I better get rid of that darn palm tree, *sob* I worked so hard on cutting those d ..n leaves . (Guess I better learn how to cut leaves.) Like I said, this is my first attempt on a diorama, so I made it simplistic. Still little odds and ends to do to it, Is that WW2Modelmaker a good place? Ha, they wouldn't take my work prolly! Drat, sry that kit is done really, that was a fun kit to build. Well, off to see what to build next.
Have fun, Bill

well the wheels are just about ready to be added to the chassis, now that the model is Dark grey and not styrene grey! I tried to cut the brass to size, and to be honest, not even the dremel worked... so, I think that the jerrycan rack is a detail I'm going to leave off for the time being, until I can find a place that sells the styrene strips I need that are the right size. I can't order them online cause I need to see them to pick the right widths and such. anyway, the tank is painted... I am getting ready to wash it tomorrow, though I'm kinda having a hard time on that one. My swastika flags are comming in on Tuesday, oh happy day! ummm.. what else... it's pretty basic from there. I think I'm gonna get another kit to fill in the tiny details that I lost, ie those two hooks... then order them from dragon at another time. The figs are together and are basecoated in black. Sooo it's just drying, decaling, weathering and tracking the tank that's left to do! yahoo... oh, and NOPE no progress pics till I'm done.. this is going to be a shock and awe tactic

Well I started to put the decals on my Panzer IV... man what a trip, The numbers are huge Red and White numbers that go on the side of the turret. No easy task when you take into consideration the port and starboard periscopes, and the side hatches in the turret. Took me two hours of rewetting them to soften them enough to go into the recesses. I started to weather the tank too. I might post a pic or two of the tank tomorrow

alright, here goes. I did more work on the tank today, I'm eager to get it done for next week's IPMS chapter competition. I have since added the mud to the tank and the exhaust. the decals are just about all on, though I do some, then move on to other things (fine detail painting). The tank is incredibly dirty and has been around some seriously wet environments, but what do you expect from mother russia?! well here's a couple of snaps for ya it's really starting to look like a Panzer now! I'll submit a pic of my reference for ya too...
